The emperor penguin is the tallest and heaviest of all living penguin species and is endemic to Antarctica. The male and female are similar in plumage and size. They spend their entire lives on Antarctic ice and in its waters. These flightless birds breed in the winter. The offspring grow rapidly in summer when the food at sea is plentiful. By December, the chicks are on their own. Five years from now, if they survive in their ocean home, the young penguins will return to become parents themselves.

My name is Thomas Vijayan, I am basically an Architect hailing from Kerala, India also known as God’s Own Country, was brought up in Bangalore and later moved to Canada, where I am now settled with my family. I have travelled all round the world for photography which is my passion but not my profession. The big cats have always been my favorite.
