Antelope Canyon is very well known amongst photographers and for that matter it has been photographed many times. With tourist numbers and crowds on the increase the tour operators have had to cancel specialised photography tours. On my recent visit to the US and on one of the last photography tours to Upper Antelope Canyon I had the privilege of capturing this scene where the sand is seen falling from above, this was due to the strong winds blowing outside. The tour guides are known for throwing sand on the rock shelf but in this case it was really raining sand from above.

Nick Psomiadis has been taking photographs since 1986 after having purchased his very first SLR film camera the Zenit 12xp. Dubbed the Russian Tank, this Soviet built camera was as heavy as a brick, nevertheless it provided Nick with a view of the world and a creative perspective through the lens. Remembering back to that time of loading the film, advancing the lever, and to the clunking sound of the shutter and all the joy it brought, this was where it all began.
