All images in this series are polarized light microscopy panoramas of crystalized substances, or are micrographs of ferrofluid interacting with a magnetic field. Amino acids L Glutamine and Beta Alanine, Salicylic, Lactic, or Sulfamic Acids were mixed with solvent and then crystalized on glass slides. The colors are the result of the interaction of polarized light with the birefringent properties of the crystals. All images are large panoramas and thus are well suited to large scale printing. I'm a bartender by night and a home science hobbyist by day so all of these were taken at home.
