Play Nice is a part of ongoing series in which the artist expresses the anxieties of modern parenthood through craft based portraits of her daughter, Gabi. The portraits in the series are designed to invoke the audiences memory of their own childhood, using homemade costumes crafted out of everyday materials and domestic objects. These devices help transform Gabriela into an allegorical child figure. The escapes afforded via childish play is contrasted with the underlying social anxieties framing the modern child and childhood.
