Taking portraits is a way to capture self feelings through the link with the "Subject" at one point of the life. Spontaneous and instantaneous, a moment which establishes a intimate relationship between Me, the Subject and the World through the eye of my camera.

Gella Slabko was born in 1977 in the Urals, the heartland of Russia where Asia meets Europe, where the land mass starts and ends. She grew up close to the industrial city of Chelyabinsk. She lives and work in Moscow. She prefers to shoot on black and white film.
