I had been watching weather patterns and the direction weather was coming from, then I scouted out the perfect place and kept an eye on the weather radars. I nearly missed it but at the last minute saw the storm coming and raced to my spot. The lightning in the shot was not captured by long exposure it was pure luck as the shot was captured at 1/500th of a second.
