A girl plays with his Teddy Bear in front of a destroyed wall by bullets in Tel Nasri, few kilometers far away from the frontline against yihadist and Turkish Army. After the withdrawal of US troops from northern Syria in October 2019, Turkey launched an offensive against the predominantly Kurdish areas in the northeast of the country along Islamist forces. Calls for war crimes investigations into the conduct of Ankara-backed militias are mounting ever since.

Born in Urretxu in 1982, Andoni Lubaki is an award-winning photo reporter based in Basque Country covering MENA countries and interested in national and social identities After completing a degree in Computer Science, Andoni took his camera as an excuse to travel the world. In an old car and with his brother, he traveled throughout África. The experience led him to focus his career on photography and he became a well known spanish photojournalist.
