Kamchatka is a peninsula on the far east of Russia known for the largest brown bear population in the world. Growing human’s activity can put the species in danger. Fish is extremely important for bear diet and it is necessary for gaining weight for winter hibernation. In 2019 industrial fishing has reached record numbers but the numbers of spawning fish decreased consequently. Comparing to 1990 it was 6 time less! And fish was the main resource for brown bear of Kamchatka. Several occasion of cannibalism were registered on the territory of national parks.
