In this project I explore the delicacy of flowers, plants and spices when encased into ice. The slightly surreal effect that derives from seeing those items through the ice that contains them, provided great inspiration to me. There is a parallel to be drawn: while freezing natural objects preserves them, a photograph also preserves them. In a way, therefore, two artificial methods for preserving natural things meet to remind ourselves how nature is the ultimate master of beauty.
