There are many cherry trees along the shores of Lake Biwa in Japan. Some of the cherry trees are over 300 years old. This cherry tree in this photo is one of them. As I approached the trunk of the tree and looked up into the tree, it seemed to be speaking to me as if it was gently enveloping me. It was like a great mother. It was a little past its best season of blooming, so the cherry tree seemed to be whispering to me, "Come back and see my beautiful blossoms next year as well."
