Old Hayashi Department Store (Tainan, Taiwan)

Hayashi Department Store was originally opened in 1932, during Japanese rule. The building was one of two buildings in Taiwan with such style and state-of-the-art elevators. The building was bombed by U.S. airplanes nearing the end of World War II. After multiple repurpose, the building got abandoned for decades. The building was restored and reopened in 2014. In 90 years, Hayashi Department Store is a historic landmark in Tainan, Taiwan. Witnesses history comes and goes.
