Still Life Series showing the transformative life cycle of animal to consumable food product

STILL LIFE: Everything must eat or it dies. Human’s higher level of cognitive function enables intentionality for what we consume. In this series, my still life photographs invite the viewer to the table to explore the transformative lifecycle from living beings to consumable food products. EXPERIMENTAL: Using 35mm slide print film to record subjects, and later conducting a chemical alteration of the medium, my work process involves the intentional obliteration of the images representing life’s daily milieu: the dog in the front yard, summer vacations on a beach, a portrait of a woman.
