Wonder was captured at Crater Lake; it is the the deepest freshwater lake in the US and has breath-taking clear dark skies since there isn't really any civilization within a hundred miles. During a 3 day showshoe outing, I came found the scene in the composition and knew i'd found my shot. Known by the ancients as the "Stream of Fire," this image captures the full arch of the milky way spanning across the crater. I spent more than a full hour shooting to capture the full arch, and a wind free evening made capturing the reflection of the stars in the water possible.
