Cruising The S-Bend

It was an overcast day. The sea was grey. Out of the sea rose thousands of grey wooden poles. The local fishermen were waiting for a period of sun, when an army of night workers would haul kelp from the sea-bed and hang the strands over the poles to dry. But that would have to wait. Then three patrol boats cruised along the S-Bend, their tail lights flashing red.
