Black, the color of bereavement; present in the folkloristic-religious tradition in a euro-mediterranean environment since the dawn of time. Predominant color in the rite of Holy Week in the city of Canosa di Puglia called Procession of the Desolate. Tradition extremely moving and participatory, where everything revolves around the strong bond between a Mother and her own Son. A procession that takes place during holy Friday in the small streets of the old town of the city, where over 300 women entirely dressed in black sing a song of moving and heartbreaking pain called Hymn to the Desolate.
