Unfinished Wall

Architect couple bought a old Japanese traditional townhouse located in alley of kyoto. The subject of the picture is the traditional wall composed of bamboo nitted in the grid, applied soil in many layers. Their choice was to set minimum repair of the part in crack or the area that soil has fallen apart, not to apply the soil in all area to repair it as new. The wall which been repaired by well trained craftsman, new soil is blended to old sail, brings original expression. In the future, by the time of repairment, it also will provid a new different expression.
