“The Little Things That Run The World”, (E.O. Wilson, 1987)

  • Photographer
    Henri Kirsch

So far, 33,000 species have been described in Germany, of which more than 7,800 (about 25%) are currently on the Red List of Endangered Species. Insects suffer from huge monoculture. Insects suffer from the excessive use of artificial fertilizers. Insects suffer from vanishing habitat. Insects suffer from climate change.

Henri Kirsch is a performance artist and conceptual photographer from Berlin. Her relentless art creates images, that forces to confront with one's role on Earth. The human being serves as a canvas for its self-inflicted discomfort. Through the perspective of photography the grotesque becomes beautiful and the beautiful becomes grotesque.
