Domingo Fareleiro is a pagan celebration in which the revival of spring, the fertility of the fields and the different ways to ward off evil eyes, so present in the traditional culture of Galicia. From early in the morning, hundreds of people throw this mixture of flour and bran ("farelos"), in a great pitched battle, which symbolizes the delivery of the traditional "farelos", which men formerly gave women to those who wanted to woo This tradition marks the beginning of the carnival in the Galician town of Xinzo de Limia.
