Naadam is one of the the most unique national festivals in Mongolia. There are a variety of marathon horse races being organized on exhausting distances between 15 and 35 km.The photograph captures strong family connection and emotion of a young jockey and his father (trainer), proudly posing on a horseback just after winning the 20 km race. The fatiguing rivalry of young jockeys, who are just a few years old, takes place in the full sun of the dusty Mongolian steppe.Children usually gallop bareback, without basic equipment. The victory is always a source of great pride for a family and locals.
