Mother and Daughter

Mother and daughter are safe on board of the rescue ship Sea Eye. Still in their wet clothes, a mixture of urine, ful and salt water from the inner rubber boat. They were rescued together with about 125 peoplefrom a rubber boat on their way from the libyan coast towards Europe on the mediterranean sea. The Sea Eye crew provides lifejackets and water for them. Women with children and pregnant women are brought on board the Sea Eye, there are 19 women and 7 children. The boat with the other people on board are following the Sea Eye for a few hours to avoid drifting back into the 12-mile zone.

Since 2009 I work as a freelance photographer in the field of photojournalism, documentary photography and portraits. I’m based in Hamburg and I realize assignments for nongovernment organizations, enterprises and newspapers in Germany and around the world, ashore and on ships . My personal documentaries are about socially, cultural and environmentally issues around the world.
