An Architects fantasy of sweeping shapes. I look over the balcony of my hotel suite floor into an atrium of stupendous proportions, with row upon row of hotel floors rising one above the other into the sky flanked by curving structural supports. This is the Burj Al Arab, a hotel built on an artificial island in the sea and located in a fantastical city that rose out of the sands of the Arabian desert.
