The Land of Tears and Joy is a personal project that aims to deepen the religion and customs of the Jewish people living in Israel and the occupied territories, highlighting mixed feelings of joy and sorrow. It is an ongoing project begun in 2011 in which the author makes a critical review of religion in Israel and its influence on the habits of the people of this country, covering different religious festivals, official as well as private family celebrations (weddings, funerals, etc..).

Jordi Cohen is a documentary photographer based in Barcelona. NGO Contributor AIDNOH (Haiti), Agua de Coco (Madagascar) and Cafebabel (Digital European magazine). Has exhibited his work in Europe and America, to highlight San Diego Art Institute, St. Petersburg, Royal Geographical Society of London, Gallería Hector Garcia of Mexico City, Couvent des Minimes of Perpignan, Complejo el Águila Exhibition Hall of Madrid. Has published in European and American media (Sunday Telegraph, CNN Blog, Leica Magazine, La Vanguardia, El Periódico, Photo France, XL Semanal, Piel de Foto, Chasseur d’Images...)
