Hong-Kong Walled Villages

Kam Tin, situated in the New Territories in Hong-Kong, is a famous place because of its biggest indigenous walled villages. The residents are of the Punti and Hakka cultures and their ancestor is Tang Hon Fat, who had moved from Jiangxi Province to Guangdong Province around the 10th century. They built walls all around their villages to protect themselves against pirates. That kind of place reminds us that Hong-Kong is not only skycrapers and modern attractions, Hong-Kong do has a rich history which began a long time before being the « Pearl of the Orient ».
