A new state in the middle of the sea is born and changes every day; a fleeting island made up of boats and rubber dinghies, a babel of languages and suffering appears and disappears in the middle of the Mediterranean waves, breaks and melts in its waters. Rescue island daily surfaces since 2011. It is necessary a sea road that joins us to it.

Marialuisa Cortesi was born in Italy in 1977. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna where she encountered Photography.In July 2009 three shots of naturalistic subject became part of the photographic heritage of MUSINF of Senigallia.In September 2009 and November 2010 she displayed her work in collective exhibitions in Senigallia.In November 2011 she was chosen and included in the Leica Lab 24×36 which ended in March 2012 with the participation at the Photoshow of Roma.In march2013 she had a solo exhibition in Forlì.During the summer2017 was selected for Brescia Dondero prize.
