Artist Leon Syfrit creates still life photographs of blown out tires that he finds along the highway of his hometown in Las Vegas, Nevada. He aims to make pictures of tires in a fresh and engaging manner that encourages people to experience an ordinary object from a new perspective. The tires he photographs bear a striking resemblance to human gesture, body language, and organic matter, and are reminiscent of artistic sculpture.
Leon Syfrit is an award-winning photographer who works in the Greater Las Vegas, NV area. His business focuses on portraiture, still life, and event photography. Leon is also interested in alternative and historic photographic processes and works at restoring and preserving vintage photographs and negatives. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia History Museum, The Free Library of Pennsylvania, and the University of Maryland. Leon holds a BFA in photography from University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and is currently working toward his MFA in photography at
