"Not from here" is a photography series which explores the theme of alienation which may occur when encountering "the unknown" (a place, a person or even a feeling). I arrived in Deauville, France, as a stranger; I represented the other - defined by he German sociologist Georg Simmel as someone both near and distant. I decided to express the strange–stranger binomial by wearing three costumes which would cover my whole body. Through the costumes, which made me both visible and invisible, I immersed myself in various locations of Deauville and interacted with them physically and emotionally.
