Emulsive Landscapes

  • Photographer
    Vera Saldivar

By chemically destroying pictures of familiar people and comforting places, the project depicts living with agoraphobia and the desire to break that safe environment created by being held in a safe space. The pictures were injected with various chemical substances as alcohol and hydrogen peroxide as a symbolism of healing a condition that could get worse by living in the same environment, watching the same images one time after another. As a result, new "landscapes" or "realities" are created looking alike to hostile, chaotic, unexplored planets. Manipulated round frame edition Instant film
