An ongoing personal project that features portraits of refugees who have arrived in Italy from countries plagued by war and poverty and are awaiting asylum. While history honors famous journeyers, these refugees embark on dangerous travels not for glory, money or war but for freedom. I have photograph them as historical figures, such as Colombo, Magellan, Stanley, Livingstone, Percy, Napoleon, Gengis Khan and other famous explorers, conquistadors and generals, inspired by classic paintings and photographs. "ANEMOS" in Greek means wind and its the origin of the word ANIMA, which means soul.
