Dragon Well tea, grown on the Hangzhou hills, is purest just before the Tomb Sweeping Festival in April. Weather hasn’t turned humid, so insect populations remain low and farmers don’t apply pesticide. Battalions of pickers line the tea fields. I go yearly to follow or forge hiking trails to photograph tea pickers in their colorful hats and blouses. I brought my new drone, and when seen from above, the conical hats of a battalion pickers appear like a constellation in the universe of tea.
