As a young mother Carol Mayer was burnt in a house fire. With burns to eighty percent of her body, her family were told she would not survive. But after a year of agonising operations and skin grafts ... survive she did. She now spends her time counselling later day burns victims. She posed for this portrait to help give strength to those who have received disfiguring burns. She is attuned to 'The Skin I'm In'.
